Conscious Connection - A Day Retreat For You & A Loved One

September 21, 2024 | 9 am - 6 pm

We are so excited to be offering this day long retreat in a beautifully natural setting.

FIVE local Everett businesses have come together to bring this quality experience that will fill your heart and hands with the touch of earth, community connection and other yummy things.

The retreat starts by waking up and playing with clay. We have lots of time to actually make an adorable vessel which will be fired in the camp fire while you join a duo yoga class from Samantha, Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist, learn Thai Massage from Dustin, Co-Owner of New Roots, and eat delicious, organic food from Cafe Wylde. All these experiences in a classic PNW environment of cedar trees, a yurt and a babbling brook featured at Wild Nature Retreats in Snohomish.

The clay experience led by Rachel Recker, Owner & Founder of Salish Sea Ceramics features wild clay that definitely feels more earthy and smooth. Harvested by a local Everett artist Dennis Hacker near money creek camp grounds, this clay has been waiting for us to make something special with it.  The clay feels like the PNW earth and Rachel is excited to see what is possible with everyone using their imagination.

The overall theme of the retreat is touch and grounding into our senses. Throughout the course of the day this idea will be reinforced through a variety of methods. With clay, a connective yoga practice for you and your loved one, then finally with a massage class teaching how to give and receive touch.

During the partner yoga class you will have the opportunity to incorporate healthy boundaries through comfortable, clear vocabulary in each posture. Postures are designed to allow one person to push and one person to pull with the permission of the other, inviting both people to understand the roles they may play together in a safe space.

The massage class will give each person 90 minutes of giving and 90 minutes of receiving an incredibly simple, yet effective series of Thai style massage techniques that leave the receiver feeling completely cared for.

We are passionate about this topic as touch is how we interact in this world and receive from it as well.  Sometimes we give it all of our attention and sometimes we give it no attention at all. We can experience healing through being able to receive touch and we can raise our awareness of how our touch affects the things around us.

We look forward to welcoming you and your loved one into Conscious Connection!

E-RYT 500, YACEP

Inspired by the puzzles of the human body I love to teach with an alignment focus. Helping to adjust the ground with props to suit where your body is now and provide an anchor for fine tuning awareness in your practice.

Classes with me leave you feeling nourished in mind and body. Encouraging your agency to discover and explore with your body rather than follow a rigid shape that may or may not work for you.

This awareness of boundaries and strength within you, you’ll bring with you throughout your life not only on the mat. It gives you discernment and confidence in decision making as well as care and compassion for where you are.

With over 1100 hours, most of my training came from teachers in Rishikesh. I could not be more thrilled to return and contribute to the community that shaped me. I’m excited to meet you on your journey!

Anoop Purohit

Born and raised in Rishikesh, India. He is a true Adiyogi (“the first Yogi”) who is a great and genuine example of living by Yoga philosophy principles since he started practice of Yoga in 2004. Quickly after, he became a Yoga Teacher in 2008, now being E-RYT 500,YACEP certified with Yoga Alliance. He trained in Pune at Iyengar’s institute, , Bangalore Swami Vivekananda Yoga University, where he learnt from many Masters of Iyengar Yoga. Anoop’s teaching style is rooted in traditional Hatha and Iyengar Yoga, and his classes are reflecting strong sense of discipline in traditional Yoga teachings.

Anoop travelled many countries to teach Yoga, like: China, Thailand, Honk- Hong to name a few, where he taught Hatha, Iyengar Yoga, Yoga Therapy, Pranayama, Dhyana, Yoga Philosophy and Anatomy with correct body alignments and adjustments.

Anoop links Asana (physical posture), Pranayama (breathwork), Dhyana (meditation) with elements of the strong discipline of Yogic ancient scriptures, which allow you to dive deep into the Yoga world.

His focus is on the deep methodology of Asana, unravelling new philosophical reasons why to practice Yoga postures as well as the therapeutic aspects of performing and teaching Asana. Anoop’s Yoga anatomy classes are strongly focused on the search of individual and optimal body alignment, very often propped up with Yoga equipment helping you on your unique Yoga journey.

His classes will leave you with plenty of creative ideas on how to use Yoga props on your individual Yoga journey and in your Yoga teaching. Be sure you will be aligned in your Yoga posture the way you have never experienced before.
